Pensacola Interventional Radiology (PIR) is a division of Pensacola Radiology Consultants (PRC). The Interventional Radiologists of PIR provide image guided, minimally invasive vascular and non-vascular procedures in the Interventional Radiology Department at Sacred Heart Hospital. These procedures are performed using imaging guidance by x-rays, ultrasound, CT scanning and/or MRI.
These procedures include:
- Angiography and Venography
- Arterial and Venous Angioplasty and Stenting
- Stent Grafting for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
- Uterine Fibroid Embolization
- IVC Filter Placement
- Central Venous Access
- Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt placement (TIPS)
- Oncologic Interventions (radiofrequency tumor ablation, chemo-embolization)
- Vertebroplasty for relief of pain caused by spinal compression fractures
- Biliary drainage and stentingNephrostomy placement and ureteral stent introduction
- Biopsies Drainage procedures of fluid collections and abscesses
